Respect for Older Architecture
HausWerks is a husband-and-wife team of architects, Doug and Laura Leckband. In 2005, we started working with families to help them redesign and update their lovely old homes. Our love of early 20th-century architecture inspired us to create renovation designs that respect the style—while employing modern comforts and conveniences like additional space, top-of-the-line appliances and energy-efficient systems. Now we are doing projects that run the gamut of size, style and design.
Design Based on Each Family’s Needs
Because we’re architects, we’re able to design to each family’s particular lifestyle. It may be that you plan to have your parents move in someday, or that you need a large home office, or that you love to host big groups for dinner. Whatever the need, we work with each family to redesign their home—and at the same time preserve or enhance its unique charm.
Preserving Neighborhood Character
Atlanta’s in-town neighborhoods offer great quality of life and are graced with so many wonderful homes. We’re happy to be making our small contribution to preserving neighborhood character by making old homes more livable.
